When the CDC (Center for Disease Control) changed the recommendations in the ongoing battle to decrease the spread of COVID-19 over the summer, mask-wearing became the number one to do for people to protect themselves and others from the potentially deadly virus. Entrepreneur Steven Odzer of New York embraced the importance of mask-wearing then took it to a whole new level by launching a campaign to provide the funding to purchase masks for people who need them. His spirit of giving does not stop there, though, as he also sponsors the Stephen Odzer Scholarship Fund.

Steven Odzer grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and had an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. He created his first business at the age of 18 in the basement of his parents’ home. He sold paper products by going door-to-door and kept on going with his ability to create successful businesses.

Steven Odzer used that foundation he had built with his first business to parlay it into multiple ones and now, after more than 30 years as a successful entrepreneur, he owns and operates an array of distribution companies. He has even recently partnered with the Vegas Golden Knights NHL team and will have naming rights to the new arena in Henderson, Nevada.
The Stephen Odzer Scholarship Program
Because of his commitment to post-secondary education, Steven Odzer of Brooklyn, NY recently launched the Stephen Odzer Scholarship Program that was created to assist students in achieving their dream of furthering their education after completing high school. Steven Odzer understands the importance of education and values it as one of the most important aspects of growth. He is determined to help ensure that students who want to are able to achieve their academic goals and become successful by decreasing the financial burden the system has levied on higher education. The Stephen Odzer Scholarship Program is a way for him to give back to the community that has been good to him.

The Stephen Odzer Scholarship Program is currently accepting applications for the fall of 2021. Anyone interested in applying must send their application materials in before April 30, 2021. Steven Odzer said all applicants must write a 500-word essay answering the question, “What is the biggest issue facing our modern society.”
Steven Odzer of New York said that in June of 2021, winners will be selected and the lucky students will be notified that they will be receiving the scholarship money they desperately needed.
In an interview in an article on Medium recently, Steven Odzer said that he is a big hockey fan so he decided to merge two of his passions to help others and looks forward to seeing the results of the students who are able to utilize the scholarship funds to better their future.
